School management system
your own, working in minutes
Classes and sections, students and their parents, a daily register, marks and report cards, fees with an overdue list. Start from a complete app and describe the changes your school needs.
What the app does on day one
Daily attendance in a minute
A register per class with everyone marked present, so the teacher only changes who is absent, late or excused. The office sees which classes are not marked yet.Marks and report cards
Enter a class's marks for a subject and term on one sheet. Each student gets a report card with percentages, grades, attendance and a remark, as a page or a PDF.Fees and the overdue list
Fee plans charged to a whole class at once, payments recorded with receipt numbers, part payments, and a list of every student with an overdue balance.Parents see only their own children
Each parent gets a one-time link from the student's page. Signed in, they see their children's attendance, marks, report cards and fees, and nothing about anyone else.Teachers, office and admin roles
Teachers take attendance and enter marks, office staff can look without changing anything, and admins run fees and settings.Excel in, CSV out
Import class lists with parents' phone numbers from a spreadsheet, and export students or the overdue list for your accountant. How it works in 3 steps
01
Start from this page
Press Start your school app. The School starting point is picked and your first request is written for you, ready to edit.
02
Your app runs in about a minute
Refinar creates the app with sign-in, every page above and a real database, and opens it in a live preview you can click through.
03
Change it by describing it, then launch
Ask for changes in plain sentences: a CBSE grade scale, transport routes, a timetable. When it is ready, press Launch: the code and the database are yours and the app is hosted on Refinar.
What it does not do yet
It does not send SMS or emails to parents: messages go out as WhatsApp links you send yourself, or as a report card link. It does not take online fee payments, build timetables or file returns with any government or board portal.
Each of those can be added by describing it, and the app keeps your school's own records either way. It is not a certified student information system and is not connected to UDISE+, CBSE, WAEC or DepEd systems.
Questions
What is a school management system?
Software that keeps a school's day to day records in one place: students and their parents, classes, attendance, marks and report cards, fees, and notices. Staff use it to record, parents use it to follow their own children, and the head of school sees the totals.
How do I create a school management system?
List the people (admin, teachers, parents, students) and what each should see, then the records: classes, students, attendance, marks, fees. Here that is already built: you start from a working app and ask for what is different in your school, such as a grade scale, fee rules or an extra field on the admission form.
What is ERP for schools?
School ERP is another name for the same software, usually with accounting, payroll and inventory added. This app covers the student side (attendance, marks, fees, parents). Payroll or a library can be added by describing them.
Can parents see other children's marks?
No. A parent account is linked to their own children through a one-time link the school sends, and every page checks that link. Brothers and sisters show up together when they share the parent.
Does it work for schools in Nigeria, the Philippines or the Gulf?
Yes. Terms, subjects, grade bands and the fee currency are your own settings, and the app runs in English or Arabic, right to left included. The demo has Indian, Nigerian, Philippine and Saudi sample schools.
How much does it cost?
Building the app and changing it use credits from your Refinar plan, and hosting is part of launching it. The details are on the pricing page. There is no fee per student.
