Your own client portal,
built by AI and owned by you
Give every client one sign-in for their projects, the work waiting for their approval, messages, files and invoices. Each client sees their own company and nothing else. Refinar starts from a working portal app and changes it as you describe what your business needs.
What comes in the app
Each client sees only their own work
Clients sign in to the same app, and every page and record is filtered to their company. A link to another client's project shows them a not found page.Projects with milestones
Status, start and due dates, and milestones that fill a progress bar the client can follow without asking you for an update.Approvals in one click
Ask a client to approve a deliverable with a link to it. They approve, or ask for changes with a note, and you see who answered and when.Tasks for both sides
One shared list per project: what your team is doing and what you need from the client, like brand assets or a signed contract.Messages and file links
A conversation on every project, and the files that go with it as links to Google Drive, Dropbox or Figma.Quotes and invoices with payment status
Clients see their invoices, what's paid and what's still due, download a PDF, and accept a quote you sent them.Your logo and colours
Pick a design style and an accent colour and add your logo. Your clients see your brand, not a vendor's.Invites by link
Create a one-time invite link on a client's page and send it however you like. The client creates an account and lands in their portal. How it works in 3 steps
01
Start from this page
Click “Make it my client portal”. The Client portal starting point is already picked and your first message is written for you.
02
The portal works in about a minute
Refinar creates the app with sign-in, pages and a real database, and shows it in a live preview you can click through as your team and as a client.
03
Make it fit your business and launch
Ask for changes in plain English: a meetings log, an intake form, a field for each project. When it's ready you launch it, and the code and the database are yours.
A portal you own instead of another subscription
Most client portal software is a hosted product you rent: its features, its branding options and, often, a price that grows with every seat or client you add. Templates in no-code tools sit on top of the tool's own database and plan limits.
This portal is a regular web app: Next.js code and a Postgres database. The people who sign in, your team and every client, are accounts in your app's own database, so Refinar doesn't charge per seat or per client for them. Building and changing the app uses credits from your Refinar plan, listed on the pricing page.
Made for agencies, consultants and accountants
A design or marketing agency shares drafts and collects approvals. A consultant keeps one place per engagement for the plan, the notes and the next steps. An accounting firm asks each client for documents every month and shows them their invoices. The starting point covers the common part; you describe the rest, like a monthly document checklist or a meeting log, and Refinar adds it to your app.
Questions
What does a client portal do?
It gives each client a private place to sign in and see everything about their work with you: project status, what needs their approval, messages, shared files and invoices. It replaces long email threads and the “any update on this?” calls.
How do I create a client portal?
Start from this page: Refinar creates the portal app with sign-in and a database, ready to use. Add your clients, create a project for each, then send each client an invite link from their page. Ask for any change in plain English, and launch when it fits.
Which client portal software is best?
It depends on how much you want to rent versus own. Hosted tools such as SuiteDash, Kitchen.co or Softr get you started without building anything, inside their features and pricing. This starting point is for when you want the portal to be your own app: your brand, your database, and changes made for your workflow.
Can one client see another client's projects or invoices?
No. Every client user is linked to one client company, and every page and query filters to it. The template's automated test signs in as two different clients and checks that each one gets a not found page for the other's project, invoice and quote.
Can clients upload files?
Not yet. Files are shared as links to Google Drive, Dropbox, Figma or anywhere else. Uploading files straight into the portal needs file storage, which the starting point doesn't include.
Can clients pay invoices online?
Clients see each invoice, what's paid and what's due, and your payment details. Card payments inside the portal are not built in; you record payments as they arrive.
Do I own the code?
Yes. When you launch, the code and the database are yours. The app is hosted on Refinar, and you keep changing it by asking.
